Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

Please add your information to the chart. This way your classes can "see" where the story is traveling and have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students who collaborate on their story.

The Two Lost Guard Dogs

Start your story here:
Julianne and Steven are the best detectives ever. They are both 10 years old and in the fourth grade. When they were 3 years old, they began their very own detective agency called 'I Spy, Inc.' Their last case was finding the Queen of England's missing crown. Guess who stole it? Oh, never mind, let's move on.

It was an early summer day when the next mission started. Right as Julianne was waking up, Steven, her brother, came running into her bedroom. "Did you hear the news? Did you? Did you?"

"Well, no. I did not hear the news," said Julianne.

"Something's happened!" replied Steven.

Stephen exclaimed, "The guard dogs are missing!"

"Guard dogs? What guard dogs?" asked Julianne.

"The guard dogs that stand outside the big, wooden door in the town of Danville." replied Stephen. "The town is going crazy! They called I Spy, Inc. because they know we can solve their problem. We've got to go help them!"

"Well, I've never heard of that door." said Julianne. "Why is it so important? What is behind it?"

"I don't know. Let's go find out!"

Julianne and Steven got ready to go. They rode in their I Spy, Inc. airplane to the Danville town square. When they got to the wooden door, the mayor told them all of the town's gold is behind the door.
"The dogs are missing! We need you to help us find them!" said the mayor.
Steven said, "They might have wandered off. Maybe they smelled something good baking and they went to find it!"
Julianne replied, "Or maybe they chased a squirrel to the park! Mayor, what are the dogs' names?"
The mayor said, "Harvey and Jackson."
Julianne said, "Let's go to the park first to find them. Or maybe we will find some clues."
The mayor said, "OK. Until the dogs are back, we will call some police officers to guard the door."

The station sent over three officers to guard the door so Julianne and Steven could look for the dogs.

The kid detectives went to the park right away. “What are those?” asked Julianne. Steven said, “You found paw prints in the mud!” They followed the trail and it led them to Delicious Donuts in Danville.

They peeked through the windows and saw a net in the corner. Steven said, “I bet that’s for the dogs. Let’s tiptoe behind the bakery and see if we can go in the back door.” “Good idea,” said Julianne. They saw a large blue truck and heard barking sounds. All of a sudden the truck began to move. They jumped in their plane. “Let’s follow them,” said Steven. So they did.

The truck led to the dog pound. When the truck stopped at the pound, the dogs jumped out. The dog nappers caught Harvey and Jackson before they could run. But when the nappers opened the door, they were arrested. Steven and Julianne called the police and the police took them to jail.

The kid detectives were each given a golden donut for helping catch the thieves.

Mrs. Green's group from WI took the story, illustrated it, and recorded it in VoiceThread. Just though I would share it here. I know we are doing a whole group one too but we were ready to make something with the story so we did! :)
