Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.
Please visit the
for more information.
Please add your information to the chart. This way your classes can "see" where the story is traveling and have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students who collaborate on their story.

Start your story here:
Long ago, there were two 2nd graders named Mike and Jewel. Mike was a boy, and Jewel was a girl. One day, the two of them decided to go exploring the neighborhood. They were looking for some kind of adventure, as they were bored. Jewel and Mike came upon a haunted house. The roof was broken up, and the shutters were falling off the outside of the house. The windows had many cracks in the glass. Mike said, "I've never seen this house before."Jewel said, "I've never seen it either. Let's go inside and see what it is like."
They went inside and looked around the upstairs first. Next they went to the basement and saw a door that was slightly open. They walked in and the evil scientist saw them. He shut and locked the door. Suddenly, a net came down and trapped them. Now, they couldn't escape from the evil laboratory. The evil scientist took off his coat and said, "Hey, what are you doing in here?"
"We were just bored so we wanted to look for an adventure and we came upon this house," said Mike."We saw this house in the neighborhood and it looked spooky so we went inside," mumbled Jewel. Then, the net came off. So, the evil scientist took them to the secret floor that had not been there before.
"My name is Professor Scamp. I have just created this house," scowled the evil scientist. But the scientist did not care, so he trapped them again!"Why do you keep doing this to us!" screamed the children. "I have a pocket knife in my pocket,” whispered Jewel. So, Jewel took the pocketknife out of her pocket and cut the net. Then they heard a rumbling noise.
Suddenly, a giant monster came out of the closet! They ran for their lives! The monster chased them until they couldn't run anymore. They found themselves in another room, and they tried to hide from the monster behind a pole.
They found themselves in another room, and they tried to hide behind a pole.
Mike and Jewel stood as still as statues. They could hear their hearts beating so rapidly. They could also hear the enormous footsteps of the monster as he searched frantically for them. As he got closer and closer, they could almost feel his disgusting breath as he growled louder and louder.
“AHHHHHHHH!” A trap door opened under Mike and Jewel’s feet just in the knick of time and they dropped like stones to the basement below.
“Finally, we’re safe,” said Jewel. “What a lucky break,” said Mike. “Let’s get out of here!” they cried. They searched and searched for a way out; however, they couldn’t find any doors. “What are we going to do now?” said Jewel. Mike noticed the floor was made of dirt. “I think we should try to dig our way out,” he said.
After hours and hours of digging with their hands, they reached the surface. “Uh oh,” said Mike, “I thought we were digging our way out, but now we’re in a creepy room that looks like a dungeon.” Jewel cries, “It really IS a dungeon. This adventure was a horrible idea.”
Just then the evil scientist comes charging down the steps with his net. He screams, “I’ve got you now!” and lunges at the kids. Jewel and Mike yell at the top of their lungs, “get away from us!” Suddenly, there’s a blinding flash of blue fire that melts the scientist’s net. Everyone turns around in shock and they see a giant, blue slimy dragon emerging from a hidden cave behind them.
The dragon was furious! It stomped its huge feet, it roared loudly, black smoke curled up from flared nostrils. But, it wasn’t looking at Mike and Jewel. It stared, directly at the mad scientist. The mad scientist shook with fear. His eyes popped out of his head. “How did you escape?” he gasped. The scientist looked around the room and saw the hole that had been dug by Mike and Jewel. “You did this!” he roared at the kids. “Your digging has released Sapphire!”
The dragon glanced at Mike and Jewel. Her eyes glowed thankfully. She began to wag her enormous curly tail. Jewel carefully moved towards Sapphire. Sapphire began to purr. Rainbow sparks danced around her snout. Jewel turned to Mike and whispered, “Mike, I think we made a new friend.”
