Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

Please add your information to the chart. This way your classes can "see" where the story is traveling and have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students who collaborate on their story.

Title: John, Patrick, Taylor, and Jenna's Adventure

Start your story here:

John, Patrick, Taylor, and Jenna were going on a trip to Africa. They were worried when the plane dived into the ocean like a submarine. The plane landed in an underwater airport. When John, Patrick, Taylor, and Jenna get off the plane they discovered that they could breathe underwater. They saw several glittery mermaids and mermen coming towards them. They watched as the mermaids and mermen pushed the airplane into a deep, dark hole in the ocean floor. An angry great white shark swam out of the hole and went after the mermaids and mermen. The mermen and mermaids swam into some sea caves that were nearby.

The four friends followed the mermaids and mermen into the cave. The mermaids and mermen put helmets on their heads and went out to find the shark. They could not find it. While they were gone a giant squid caught the four friends. "Aach," said the friends. They struggled with the squid and escaped into a giant cave. When the mermaids and mermen returned, they put a magic spell on the squid and he became friendly. John, Patrick, Taylor and Jenna found some rocks in the cave and they built a home. The great white shark found their cave and the friendly squid protected everyone by using its tentacles to blow out black ink. The shark swam away, but the next day the shark returned with three of his shark friends.

The four scary sharks were waiting outside the home, but couldn't hear anyone inside. That's because the children, mermaids, and mermen predicted the sharks would return. They had an escape door and were hiding out in a secret location until they could come up with a better plan. All of a sudden there was a violent storm. The current was moving everything around under water. The friends were having a hard time staying hidden. As they heard the sharks coming closer the storm became stronger. The friends decided to ask the mermaids and mermen to cast another spell, but when the children turned around the mermaids and mermen had disappeared.

Taylor gulped “Where did the mermaids and mermen go?” Jenna yelled “Let’s block out the cave!” The four friends scattered throughout the cave looking for rocks to block out the sharks. They searched and found rocks in the corner of the cave. But the rocks were too heavy for them to carry. The four friends tried rolling the rocks on the sea floor. They were not successful moving the rocks. “Let’s have the squid move the rocks with it’s tentacles” yodeled Patrick. The squid spoke and said “I will move the rocks.” The squid moved the rocks and it blocked the sharks. The four friends discovered that there was a new passage way in the cave where the rocks had been located.

The four friends walk into the passage. When they walked in, they found the merpeople hiding from the sharks. They were cowering and shivering. The merpeople danced with excitement that it was not the sharks. The nose-sniffing sharks followed the scent of Patrick, Jenna, John, and Taylor to the mouth of the passage. They pushed piles of sand out of their way to get to the friends. Patrick, Jenna, John and Taylor tried to keep the sharks away from the merpeople. During their battle, the sharks ate the kids. The merpeople were very sad. The special merpeople decided to cast a spell on the sharks to save their friends. When the spell was cast, the sharks spit out Patrick, Jenna, John, and Taylor. To their amazement, the kids were mermaids and mermen! Because of the spell, the sharks became their friends just like the squid, and they all lived happily ever after.
