Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

Please add your information to the chart. This way your classes can "see" where the story is traveling and have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students who collaborate on their story.

Title: Gotcha!

One day, when Richard came home from school, he saw a mysterious box sitting on his doorstep. He took the box inside and went upstairs to the attic. As he walked in the attic, the door slammed behind him. He was suddenly frightened. Richard slowly opened the box. Inside was a wrapped chocolate bar. Written on it was, “Eat me, Richard.” Richard thought, “What should I do? Do I eat it?” Richard slowly peeled the wrapper off of the bar. Suddenly he thought, “How did my name get on the bar?”

He was just about to take a bite when suddenly, his mom opened the door. Richard quickly shoved the mysterious chocolate bar deep into his pocket. His mom announced, "It's dinner time, come on down!" Richard could hardly sit still through spaghetti and meatballs at the kitchen table with his mom, dad, and sister Lizzie. As he bounded back up the stairs to the attic, he pulled the chocolate bar out and examined the curious candy even harder than before. He decided he just couldn't wait to find out, so he raised the candy bar to his face. Then he broke it into two pieces and screamed as he saw what was inside!

"AGH!!!" Richard exclaimed as a slimy red substance erupted from the candy like a volcano. It then dripped down his arms. It was fake blood! "Who would play such a prank on him?" thought Richard. He thought back to all the pranks that he had played on his family. Last month, Dad was washing dishes and got a big surprise. As he turned on the faucet, he got soaked as the water sprayed in his face. And to make it worse, the water was green! Richard had taped the water spout and added green food coloring to the water. Richard's dad was so angry that he sent him to his room for the rest of the night.

Last weekend they went to the beach. Everyone was enjoying the cool water and the bright sunshine, when Richard decided to play another one of his pranks. This time it was on his Mom. Richard dressed as a shark and swam toward her. She screamed in fright and swam to shore. Richard laughed so hard he fell back into the water. Mom was furious! This time Richard was punished for a week.

Last night, Richard got Lizzie with one of his pranks. As she was sleeping, he sneeked into her room with a lemon cream pie. He carefully tickled her nose with a soft fuzzy feather. As she reached to scratch her nose, Richard placed the pie in her hand. SPLAT! Lizzie's face was covered with sticky lemon pie. She screamed and ran to tell her parents. This time Richard was punished for a whole month.

Could it have been one of them that played this prank on him?

Once in his room, he noticed the chocolate bar wrapper on the floor. He picked it up and noticed there was a phone number on the wrapper. Richard decided to sneak up to the attic with his cell phone and try to call the number. The call was answered on the first ring. A mysterious, spooky voice stated, “It’s time for you to learn your lesson, Richard.” After an evil laugh, the phone disconnected. Dropping the phone in fear, Richard sprints out of the attic into his room and jumps under his covers. He finds himself lying in lemon cream pies. As he removed the covers, he was showered with green water and a stuffed shark dropped from the ceiling. As he examines the shark more carefully he notices a note stuffed in the mouth of the shark. He nervously uncrumples the note and in big, bold letters he read the word GOTCHA! Love, Mom, Dad and Lizzie. “I guess my pranking days are finally over,” groaned Richard.
