Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

Please add your information to the chart. This way your classes can "see" where the story is traveling and have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students who collaborate on their story.

Title (Given by the last class):

Start your story here:
Twas the night of Halloween and the silver moon was full and bright against the dark black sky. There wasn't a star to be seen. Four eager children, each in costume, ventured out on a new block. The first child, a genie dressed in purple, black, and gold with tan skin and flowing brown hair, was named Casey. The next child, Mick, was disguised as a prisoner with bold black and white stripes. His dark black hair was hidden under his hat. The third child was a princess with tan skin and dark black hair swept back off of her face and pulled back into a tight bun. She was wearing a pink gown and her bright blue eyes were shining with excitement. Her name was Illiana. The fourth child, Crystal, was dressed as a shining star, bright and sparkling. Her gold sparkling dress, her honey brown hair, and her azure blue eyes all twinkled. The two youngest children, Illiana and Casey, anticipated something exciting was going to happen, while the two oldest, Mick and Crystal, feared that something terrible was going to happen. But the one thing was for sure, they all knew, deep down in their bones that SOMETHING was going to happen when they walked up to the old abandoned mansion.

When they came a bit closer, a trap door opened from underneath them. All fell but Illiana, she stood there shivering even though it was 80 degrees out! Illiana then ran for help. The closest place was an old abandoned gas station, but something told her that she should go in the house. Against her will she went inside. She took her first step and…..she woke up with her friends staring down at her. “I must have fainted.” “Yeah”, said her friends. We found our way up from the trap door but the place is locked. Next they all heard a creaking sound, something was coming down the stairs! “Hide!” said Casey.

As they heard the terrifying creaking noise coming from the stairs, they feared that this was going to be the end. As Illiana was running behind the stair railing to hide, she saw a shadowy foot emerge from the stairs. As they were waiting for the creaking noise coming down the stairs, they noticed it was a man-eating hamster. It was as tall as the ceiling and its red beady eyes were looking at the children. Its fangs were the size of daggers and it lurched for Mick! They saw a dumbwaiter underneath the stairs and Mick hurried in as fast as a cheetah. As soon as he got in, the door slammed shut and the dumbwaiter began to move down to the basement! As the man-eating hamster reached the last step, Casey and Illliana ran to the front door and tried to get out. They slammed into the door, but it wouldn’t open. Then they saw chairs floating around the room. The children were distracted from all of the levitating chairs and they forgot all about Mick. The chairs hit the man-eating hamster and it fell to the floor with a THUD! The hamster became scared and it ran back up the stairs. Just then, Crystal swung to the rescue on the rope that was attached to the dumbwaiter. Suddenly, the dumbwaiter door started to rumble. With a puff of smoke, Mick leaped out of the dumbwaiter and stood up. When he did he looked REALLY shocked! Casey yelled, “Watch Out! There's something behind you!” Duhn, duhn duhn…..!!!
As Mick slowly turned, a shadowy figure retreated into the darkness. Mick got the shivers as Casey did too. "What do you think that was?" asked Casey.
"…it might be Old Man Jenkins!" replied Mick.
“Who is Jenkins?” Crystal whispered.
“You don’t know who Jenkins is?” said Mick.
"OK, let us tell you the story about Old Man Jenkins. Here it goes:" said Liliana.
“Over sixty years ago, Old Man Jenkins was married to Silvia. They had two kids, and they lived in this house. They were a loving family, but Jenkins was a mad scientist. He was obsessed with ending world hunger by creating a chemical to make food really big. Sadly, one terrifying night his daughter’s hamster escaped from its cage and went into the scientist’s lab. It instantly grew to eight feet tall and devoured his wife and children. Jenkins wanted revenge for the deaths of his beloved family, so he returned to the mansion to face the giant hamster. Since that night, no one has ever heard from him again, but people say that he has been haunting the abandoned mansion ever since.’

All of a sudden, the children heard a creak from behind Mick and a freezing gale flew by them. The dumbwaiter’s door flew open and the outline of a shadowy figure appeared. The children heard a faint whisper, “Follow me to be free.” Mick gazed at Crystal. “What is that? Should we follow?” he questioned. Before Crystal could answer, the sound of the hamster’s feet echoed through the room. “The hamster’s coming back!” Ilianna screeched. The children all ran towards the dumbwaiter. They felt their feet leave solid ground as the floor opened beneath them. They fell into a dark, damp, gloomy tunnel. Dimly lit torches illuminated the walls around them. The young, shadowy figure appeared before them. “Follow me. I know the way out. I used to live here with my family until the tragedy with my hamster.” Casey turned to Illiana. “It must be Jenkins’s daughter,” she whispered. “Let’s go.” Crystal shouted. It is not like we have a choice. The hamster will be after us.” They scurried along the tunnel after the shadowy figure, constantly looking behind them. All of a sudden, the children heard a loud thump and the torches went dark. Knowing that is was the hamster after them, they ran faster than they had ever run before, as a hazy sliver of moonlight came into view. “We’ll be safe outside,” the shadowy figure explained. “The hamster will never go into the moonlight. He knows he will shrink.” The children continued running until they reached the end of the tunnel and fell onto the ground outside. Illiana turned around to thank Jenkins’s daughter for saving them, but all she saw was the darkness of the tunnel.

Demetri sighed and placed his pen down on the desk. He would finish the story tomorrow. He didn’t see, however, the shadowy figure peering at him from outside his window.
