Progressive Story 21
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Title (given by the last class to write): Hunt for Victory

Type your story here:
Chester, Ben, Julia, and Victoria were going on a nature walk for science class. Their science teacher had given the class a scavenger hunt contest. They had to find and take pictures of deer, a tulip, a pine tree, a raccoon, and pinecones. The group that found all of the items first would win tickets to an amusement park. “Let’s walk through the forest” Ben said. “Great idea!” responded Victoria.
As the group was walking through the forest Chester began to feel drops of water falling on his head. More drops started to fall quicker and faster. “Rain!” yelled Chester. “Run to the secret hideout!” exclaimed Julia. Chester, Victoria, Julia, and Ben ran as fast as the wind to get to the hideout. They created their secret hideout last year out of rocks and tree branches. Only they knew about the hideout and they all pinkie swore that they would tell no one about it or its location.

Chester, Julia, Victoria and Ben were planning what to do when the rain stops. Victoria says “We should go to the darkest point in the forest, I think that is where we will find the raccoon and the deer. Do you want to do that?”

“Yes!!” they all shout. “Great idea!” says Julia.

The rain stopped. “Let’s go everyone!” said Ben.

They ran and ran until they arrived at the darkest part of the forest. They wondered if they should split up to search so that they could find all the things first. “Well, splitting up does cover more ground.” exclaimed Chester.

Chester and Victoria head one way and Ben and Julia head the other way.

Chester and Victoria searched until they found the raccoon. The raccoon spotted them and hissed fiercely at Victoria and Chester. Victoria quickly snapped a picture of the raccoon and then they both ran away quickly.

As Victoria and Chester were busy running from the maniac raccoon, Ben and Julia were busy searching for the deer. Ben and Julia heard the sound of running water. They slowly approached and saw a deer drinking from a freshwater stream. Just as Ben was about to snap the picture, a ferocious-looking bear came wandering out of the forest. Julie whispered to Ben, "Take the picture, now!" Ben nodded and quickly snapped the photo. Ben mouthed to Julia "I got it, let's go." They slowly backed away from the bear.

Meanwhile, Victoria and Chester were busy searching for the tulip. As they searched the forest floor, they noticed a broken stem. "Oh no, I wonder what kind of flower used to be here!" exclaimed Victoria. Chester and Victoria heard rustling in nearby bushes and saw another group running away. They started to search the area and Victoria said "Look over here under this pile of sticks and leaves!" Chester ran over and together they started to remove things from the pile. Under all of that brush was a shabby looking tulip. "I bet that group buried this so we couldn't get the picture!" said Chester. He then took a picture of the poor tulip. "No one ever said it had to be gorgeous!" yelled Victoria.

Victoria and Chester continued on their quest for the pine cone and the pine tree. They heard a strange sound – a loud, loud scream that make them jump. The scream got louder and louder and scared them so badly that Victoria and Chester jumped and scurried off further into the deep, dark woods. They ran and ran and ran until they got lost. As the duo tried to locate the pine tree, they spied the sneaky group that tried to hide the tulip earlier in the day. Victoria asked the group if they were spying on them but they said they weren’t and just wanted to win the amusement park tickets. Victoria and Chester didn’t believe them but didn’t have any evidence that they were cheating. So Victoria and Chester continued on and soon came to a stream. As they tried to jump over the stream, Victoria accidentally dropped the camera into the rushing water. Oh, no, were the photos gone forever?

In the meantime, Ben and Julia were also searching for the pine cone and the pine tree. As they were strolling through the woods, they heard an eagle high up in a nearby pine tree and noticed one lone pine cone at the very top. So they took a photo of the pine tree but wondered how they could even get a photo of that pine cone at the very top of the tree. They decided to try to try to climb the tree to take the photo but Ben accidentally dropped the camera. The camera fell and the strap got caught on a branch and got stuck there. How could Ben and Julia rescue the camera and take the final photo they needed to win the tickets?

Luckily Chester and Victoria discovered the camera did not get washed downstream. It landed on a rock in the water and Chester picked it up. They were very upset, but Victoria grabbed the camera and wondered if the memory chip still worked. They took the memory card out of the camera and back to their secret hideout. They loaded the pictures on their laptop and printed the pictures out. Meanwhile, Ben and Julia were discussing how to get their camera back. Julia decided to climb up the tree, unhook the camera from the branch, and tosses it up to Ben. Ben snapped the final picture of the pinecone and they quickly headed back to school. Finally, they met up with Chester and Victoria, and both groups showed their photos to the science teacher. Since they were the first group to arrive, they all got tickets to go to the amusement park! Five minutes later, the other team walked into class and were shocked to see Chester, Victoria, Ben and Julia with the amusement park tickets in their hands. Chester said to the other team, “you wasted your time trying to hide the tulip from our group.”
“Cheaters never win, and winners never cheat!” exclaimed Chester, Victoria, Ben, and Julia.
