Progressive Story 9
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

The Day Disney Saved Our Lives

Type your story here:

One dark and spooky night in 1942, Noelle, Sara, Caleb and Hayden were walking through a haunted woods. As they came to the edge of the woods, they stumbled upon a huge, creepy mansion by a swamp. It was surrounded on the other sides by a graveyard. The light of the full moon shimmered off of Gavin, a swamp monster with bright yellow, glowing, spooky eyes, who was swimming in the swamp . The cold wind was filled with the growls and howls of a werewolf and the cackle of a witch.
“I’m freezing!” Noelle complained.
“So am I”, said Sara. “Let’s get out of here!”
“But we can’t walk another step!”, the boys complained. “Let’s go inside and warm up, then we’ll go home.”

The four friends rang the doorbell of the spooky mansion. The door opened all by itself. They walked inside and saw a bunch of cobwebs over the doors. The door slammed behind them. Then they heard a spooky sound say, “I’m going to get you!”

Bats began to fly around them. Sara said, “Maybe we shouldn’t have come in here.”

Noelle replied, “You’re right Sara, maybe we shouldn’t have.”

Meanwhile, Gavin left the swamp and started to move towards the mansion. Gavin slithered up to the front door. He was hungry and he ate the door. Then he entered the mansion and saw the children. They backed into a corner as Gavin came towards them.

Noelle turned to grasp Sara’s hand and realized that Sara had vanished. Noelle shrieked with fear. As Gavin slithered closer and closer, Caleb spotted a half open door with a moving handle. The three frightened friends ran feverishly toward the mysterious door. They were surprised to see that it led to a room with a sleeping vampire. They gasped when they realized that it was Sara. She awoke in just enough time to warn them about the identity of the real monster.

This led the brave trio back to the steaming moonlit swamp. “Where’s Gavin, did we lose him?” bellowed Hayden. “ you!” screamed Noelle. The figure appeared through the green heavy fog. “That’s not Gavin!” cried Caleb. “No it’s not, said Noelle!” “It’s the real monster,” shouted Hayden. “Just like Sara described”, said Caleb.

Just then they heard Sara shouting, “Run for your lives!” “Sara?” Noelle said in disbelief.

Right then, Sara turned into the monster with red, creepy eyes, long sharp claws, lots of hair and very sharp teeth. Noelle, Caleb and Hayden could hardly believe their eyes! "AAAAHHHHH!", they said. "Run for your lives!" Sara tried to scoop them up but she was too heavy and slipped through the stinky mud and into the dark swamp. She hurt her right leg as she was falling and couldn't get back up. Her leg hurt her so much that she started to cry. Noelle, Caleb and Hayden felt sorry for her and asked, "Are you OK?" Sara answered, "Yes, but my leg hurts really bad. Will you help me get out of the icky swamp?" Caleb said, "Why should we help you when you were trying to scare us?" Sara replied, "I wasn't trying to scare you. You guys are my friends. Can you help me turn back into a person?"

Noelle, Caleb, and Hayden didn't know what to believe. Was this really Sara the monster or was it Gavin? Just then Gavin appeared out of the steamy, stinky, swamp. They looked like twins but with different colored eyes. "How did you two turn into these horrible, scary monsters", asked the children. "Excuse us! That's not nice to say!” said Gavin and Sara. We don't want to be monsters, but ever since the witch put us into the swamp we turn into monsters every time there is green heavy fog like tonight. "Will you please tell us how to change back once for all?" Hayden said, "I read somewhere that swamp water here is magical. Why don't you drink it?" They all went down to the swamp where Sara and Gavin took a large gulp. "Oh my goodness!” shouted Noelle. "You two are now FROGS!" The children didn't know what to do next. All they knew is that they wanted to break the spell. Sara did the unthinkable because she knew that a life eating flies was just not for her. She hopped over to Gavin and gave him a a quick kiss on his froggy lips. There was a spark and lots of smoke and "Poof!" Gavin and Sara were back to being the kids they once were. "Sara, how did you know that a kiss would break the spell?” asked Noelle and Caleb. "I have one word for you...Disney!” screamed Sara. The children laughed all the way home from the swamp where Disney saved their lives.
