Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

The Legend of Shakalien, Stobor, and the Kings

It’s been 500 years since Earth was destroyed after being struck by a giant asteroid. The people who managed to escape before Earth’s destruction drifted in a spaceship for 30 years until they stumbled across a habitable planet. They named their new home Hubba Bubba.
I was born on Hubba Bubba fifteen years ago, and my parents named me Shakalien. My people are at war with King Tokyo and his people from planet Kookoolania. Thousands of people have died in the war. Families have been torn apart, and kids as young as sixteen sent off to fight in the war. It’s so lonely without anyone my age to play with, so I created a robot named Stobor. Today will be the first time I turn him on. It’s been a year since I started building Stobor. I hope nothing will go wrong.
With a shaking, sweaty hand I reached over and pushed the power button. Stobor’s eyes blinked open.

Stobor looks to his left and then to his right and lets out a loud cry, “WHAAA!” Shakalien is frightened by the loud cry and quickly reaches for the OFF button to make him stop. “Uuuhhhhnnn,” Stobor powers down as Stakalien signs in relief. After he takes a few minutes to calm himself, he slowly approaches his robot and reluctantly pushes the ON button. He takes a rapid step back. Stobor blinks his eyes, looks to his left and then to his right, just had he had done before. This time there was no loud cry, but instead the robot begins to leak oil from his eyes. Stobor is crying! No longer frightened, Shakalien wipes the oil from his eyes and tells him it will be okay they are not alone anymore. They can be friends. Shakalien connects Stobor to his computer and programs him to play friendly games like tag, hide and seek, and rugby.

Over the next months, they spend countless hours playing and becoming best friends as the war with King Tokyo wages on. Until one day, the leader of Hubba Bubba finds out about Shakalien’s robot and decides to steal him and program him for war.

Shakalien dresses up like Stobor and tells the real Stobor to hide. King Hubba Bubba storms into Shakaliens room and steals “Stobor” He takes him back to and old abandoned warehouse, which was full of all kinds of army equipment. Shakalien waits until King Hubba Bubba falls asleep and shuts everything down. He programs the machines to become a big magnet. He dresses King Hubba Bubba in a metal suit and turns the machines on. When the King is stuck to the magnet with no chance of getting off Shakalien takes off his Stobor mask and King Hubba Bubba finds out the real Stobor is hiding somewhere. Shakalien takes off running. When he gets home he turn on his computer and a message appears on the screen “Give me Stobor or else!!”

Shakalien and Stobor shivered at the threatening note. Meanwhile on Mars, James Bond takes his private rocket and flies to Hubba Bubba to explore. James Bond meets Shakalien and Stobar. Shakalien tells James Bond what has been happening with Stobar and King Hubba Bubba. James says that he will help them spy on King Hubba Bubba to prevent him from stealing Stobor. While spying on King Hubba Bubba, the three friends notice that the King is getting his army ready to find Stobor and steal him. All of a sudden, they hear a rustling. When they turn around, King Tokyo is standing behind them.

Shakalien, James Bond, and Stobor run to Shakalien’s house with King Tokyo chasing after them. Then James Bond distracts King Tokyo in the backyard, and Shakalien hides Stobor in his house. James Bond shoots King Tokyo with a sleep dart. He crashes to the ground and sleeps for an hour.
Then Shakalien goes to King Hubba Bubba and says, “Come to my house and I’ll give you Stobor.” King Hubba Bubba goes to Shakalien’s house.
They find King Tokyo on the ground in the backyard. James Bond dumps a bucket of cold water on King Tokyo’s face. King Tokyo wakes up, opens his eyes wide, and is furious.
Then King Hubba Bubba says to King Tokyo, “Why are you here?”
Shakalien interrupts, “Do you even remember what the war is about?”
The kings say, “Actually, I don’t remember.”
“Can we just have peace?” Shakalien asks.
King Tokyo agrees, but King Hubba Bubba says, “Never in a million years.” He takes a couple steps away, then pauses and thinks that the war is ridiculous. He turns around and says, smiling, “Never in a million years would I want to keep fighting.”
Then the two kings make peace. They sent the guards to tell newscasters and everyone on both planets that the kings had made peace. They celebrate and it will be a national holiday. Later that year, the kings find out that they were long lost brothers. Stobor and Shakalien are second in line for the throne because they helped make peace.
