Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Title (Given by the last class):

Start your story here:

Once upon a time there was a little girl named Katie. She was a petite child with long dark hair and eyes that sparkled like the crystal blue waters. Katie was not like most normal children. Her parents Mr and Mrs. Carmel knew this the day that she was born. How did they realize that she was different you might ask? The day Katie was born her mother gave her a bottle and as soon as the bottle touched her little lips, it turned into fruit punch. Then once she was old enough to eat solid food everything that touched her lips turned into a different type of candy.
Soon this ability got out of hand, so her mom and dad gave her healthy food to see if this ability would go away. But the healthy food turned into hot chocolate. Mom and dad came up with an idea. One day they gave her candy to see if it would turn into healthy food, but that didn’t work. Soon her parents noticed that whatever she ate her eyes turned that color too.
Mr. and Mrs. Carmel thought that it was very strange that Katie was turning things into hot chocolate. Since her eyes were turning colors they decided to take her to the doctor. After an examination the doctor decided that Katie had Eggna which is a disease. There is a possibility that the disease could just wear off, but just in case the doctor gave her a small white pill. Then, he sent Katie home to rest. At home Katie began to turn the color of the blanket she was covered up with! Her parents gasped and rushed her to the car. They tricked her and told her that they were going to the candy store, but really they were taking her to get surgery. During surgery they found out something amazing about Katie.

The surgeon had never seen this before! They discovered that Katie’s blood was flowing backwards. The surgeon looked back at her blood work. Her blood count was off. She had the usual red blood cells, but instead of white blood cells, it showed she had ‘color changing candy’ blood cells.

Mr. and Mrs. Carmel were in the waiting room when the doctor came to update them on Katie’s surgery. The news was shocking. It took a minute, then Mr. Carmel said, “Really?!” I heard a story once, about my great, great, great-grandfather, who had a blood disorder.
