Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to your Teacher Leader. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Title (Given by the last class): The Wishing Rock

Start your story here:

Once upon a time, there was a boy named Jake. He became a famous hockey player, and he went in the NHL (National Hockey League), but he was only 17. The rules said that he was too young so he had to leave the NHL. Jake was feeling very sad, and he really wanted to join the NHL again. So Jake got older and older. He kept on playing hockey. One day, a hockey coach was watching Jake at his hockey practice, and he was AMAZED! He said you are great!!!!

I would love to invite you to play in the NHL just to see if you're a qualified player. He was eager and very motivated by the words of the coach but he didn't know what to do because his mother was sick and his two young brothers were too little. He was waiting so long for this to happen though. But he did not say no!!! He said to himself, I can do this!!! I just need to figure out how to manage my mom and my little brothers, so he was thinking I could ask the coach if my little brothers could be the mascots so they would be with me all the time. But what about making my mother feel better? Jake remembered that he knew a hypnotist who could cure any sickness and would make his mother feel better in no time. Jake called the hypnotist and set up an appointment for his mother. Just when Jake thought he had it all figured out and was about to join the NHL something happened!!!

Jake looked at his watch and said, “I’m late for practice!” So, he went to practice and when he got to the rink, no one was there. Then, the janitor walked by. He asked the janitor, “where is everybody?” The janitor said, “I’m sorry to tell you, but the NHL hockey season was over yesterday”. Jake was sad, but just then he remembered that his mom was feeling better and coming to see him practice, so he called her. His mom was already on her way so she picked him up and then took him home. Jake’s mom said, “I’m so sorry that the season is over, Jake”. She thought for a minute and said, “I know something you could do". . .
Mom said, "I have been saving something for emergencies, Jake. I have a Rainbow Rock. This is a make-a-wish rock. This is a rock that you can rub or touch only one time for one wish. I have been saving it for you because you helped me when I was so sick. You are the best son ever! What would you like, wonderful son? You get just one wish so think carefully." It didn't take Jake long to think of his wish. "I wish I could reset time. That way I would be able to get on this season's NHL team, bring my two brothers along as our mascots, and have my healthy mom and my friends sit in the stands to watch us all at the game." And that's what he did! The End
