Progressive Story 15
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Title (given by the last class to write):Joey, The Wizard, and His Pickle Potion Problems

Type your story here:

" Dunka Shanunka," said Joey the wizard. Joey used these words to make magic happen. He was about to turn his maid Hilga into a frog." Bunka Shanunka", he repeated! Poof! Before him stood an elephant! He had remembered the wrong spell! Now, he had to figure out what to do with this elephant. He went to Pickle Park in Readington Township ,New Jersey to find a pickle to put in his potion. He thought this might help him solve his problem.

“ Plink, plark, plank, park. I’m in search for pickles at this park,” sang Joey. He searched Pickle Park high and low. However, he did not find any pickles. All he found was beautiful green grass, a large baseball field, and a colorful playground.
“Why do they call this place Pickle Park? There are no pickles here!!” He was exasperated.
“Perhaps you could try finding a pickle at Kings Supermarket. It’s right down the road in Whitehouse Station,” whispered a kind little girl.

Stomp, thud, stomp, thud. He started to run down Route 523 leading to King’s. First, he passed a school filled with children. Then he passed an elephant. He said "I wonder if that is my elephant." He didn't stop because he really wanted the pickles. Right before he got to Kings, he passed Hershey Park.

As he reached Kings, he sang "I'm here, I'm here, La Da De, La Da Do, La Da Da, I'm here."

As he approached the front door he saw a sign. The sign was shaped like a giant pickle. It said, "We are sold out of pickles, SORRY."

"Oh. no," sighed Joey. " I guess I will have to try Wizard World"

Skip, hop, skip, hop, he started to skip on his way.

Joey was skipping to Wizard World when he saw Pickle World on the street. Joey decided to go in to Pickle World and see what he could find. He looked everywhere for the largest pickle they had. He found one and bought it. So, Joey went back home and his elephant wasn't there. "That WAS my elephant!" Joey shouted.

Joey had to go back to the park, and back to the school, and back the way he walked to find the elephant. The elephant wasn't there. So Joey went to Hershey Park and saw the elephant riding the roller coaster. The elephant was too big for the roller coaster, and the roller coaster started to break. Joey ran to go get the elephant and save him. He caught him in his arms and rode him back home.

As Joey was riding home on his elephant, he passed through Philadelphia, following the path of the Schuykill River. He saw a man up ahead, waving his arms, gesturing for Joey to stop. When Joey stopped, the man exclaimed, "I am a zookeeper from the Philadelphia Zoo. One of our elephants escaped yesterday. I think you are riding our elephant, Marty!"

Joey replied, "No, you are mistaken. This is MY elephant, Hilga!"

"Are you sure?" the zookeeper questioned.

"Yes, because I am a wizard and this is really my maid that I wanted to turn into a frog, but I made the incorrect potion and I got an elephant instead," Joey explained.

The zookeeper didn't believe Joey's story, so Joey decided he had to prove he had magical powers. He pulled the gigantic pickle out of his backpack and waved it over the zookeeper while yelling, "Pasta, pepperoni pizza, pretzels, purple popsicles, and pickles. Punka Shanunka!"

Poof! Joey turned the zookeeper into a puny prickly porcupine to demonstrate his magical powers. Before Joey could change the zookeeper back to himself, the puny prickly porcupine scurried down the Schuykill Expressway back to the zoo.

Arriving home, Joey remade the potion adding the pickle, hoping this would be the right solution for turning Hilga into a frog. With his eyes closed, he poured the solution on the elephant and chanted, "Dunka Shanunkel!"

He opened his eyes and much to his surprise, the elephant had not become a frog, but had turned into a gray goat!

"Oh, no! I did it wrong again!" Joey moaned in despair. "I was supposed to say - Dunka Shanunka!"
