Progressive Story 19
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Title (given by the last class to write):

Molly's Great Adventure

CRASH! CRACK! Molly bends down and picks up her broken mirror from the hallway floor. She examines the mirror. “Oh no! The frame is chipped!” Molly says. Suddenly, the mirror starts to pull Molly’s arm inside. She tries to pull her arm out with all her strength, but it only gets worse. The mirror just pulls her in so fast that she is gone in half a second.

Molly is all alone in a new world, or so she thinks. She finds herself laying flat on her back, staring up at palm trees. Molly stands up, looks around, and sees signs saying past, present, and future. Molly is confused. Will she choose to follow one of the signs or explore her new world to find a way back home?

She nervously takes a deep breath and walks quietly toward the new world in front of her. As she looks around she sees a sign that says, "Welcome to Land of Chances". Beyond the sign are floating mountains covered with whipped cream, steamy milk chocolate rivers, oceans that jiggle with jello, and palm trees with palms made of fresh baked cupcakes. In the distance she hears sharp clanging coming from the floating mountains and rustling in the bushes near by. As Molly stands there in shock of this new world, she feels something soft brush against her ankle. She carefully reaches down to examine the object discovering that it is a live mushroom. With each touch it shrinks and grows. They are all around her. As the sun goes down the mushrooms illuminate, creating a path toward a glowing moss-covered cave. She follows the path and sees a man guarding the entrance to the cave. "Why am I here?" she asks.

The short, plump guard answered, that's for you to find out and pointed to the opening of the cave. Molly slowly walked inside. She could hear a dripping sound coming from deep within. As she walked further into the cave she discovered the noise was from the melting chocolate ceiling.
As she gazed up she stumbled into a puddle of vanilla pudding. The pudding was like quicksand. As she sank further and further, she tried to eat her way out. No matter how fast she ate she couldn't escape the delicious pudding and it swallowed her whole. After a few moments she fell from the gooey pudding on to a fluffy marshmallow. She then noticed a table meade out of gingerbread with a crystal ball on it. There was a letter laying beside it that read, "Look closely to discover the chances you are about to encounter."

Suddenly the crystal ball swirled and turned into Jewel the queen of the Land of Chances. Jewel welcomed Molly but wondered why she was there. Molly told her that her mirror had broken and pulled her into the Land of Chances.
Jewel told Molly that it might take a while to find her way back. Then Molly said good bye to Jewel and tripped into a puddle of fudge. Molly got up, looked to her left and saw an army of gummy bears. The captain asked her to be the leader. Molly decides not to be the leader of the gummy bears. The crystal ball reappears and tells Molly to go to the future and go home or be stuck here in the Land of Chances forever. Molly walked past the crystal ball and she saw two paths which had no signs. She thinks to herself this is the Land of Chances so I‘m going to the left.

Molly, scared as a little baby, heard something and walked towards the sound. She fell into a hole and hit her head on a big marshmallow. She fainted. When she awoke, she saw a chocolate bar canoe. There were people in it. Calmly, she asks the people, "Did I hit my head?" The people looked at her strangely. They nodded yes. Molly continued her journey down the chocolate river. Whoosh! went the sound of the canoe as the river picked up speed. There was a chocolate fall that was 90 feet tall. "AHHHHHHHH!" Molly screamed in fright. Surprisingly, Molly survived the fall. She rubbed her eyes free from the chocolate goo and there in front of her was her house. She climbed out of the canoe, raced to the front door and went inside. There she lived for 19 years. She never did fix that hallway mirror.
