Progressive Story 24
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Title (given by the last class to write):
(C.S.M.) Chuck's Secret Mission
Type your story here:
Have you ever gotten an awesome gift at your birthday party? My crazy, Uncle Luke once gave me a purple, talking polar bear named Chuck. Chuck was 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed about 20 pounds. When I got him, he was wearing a yellow and black polka dotted sweater and a watch that he spoke into. First when he spoke, I noticed he had an accent. Secondly, I heard him murmur from the corner of his mouth while he was looking out of the window. Lastly, I heard him say, “I accept this mission and will meet you at midnight at the train station.” I got to believing that Chuck was a super, secret spy.
Just before midnight I heard a little bonk, and knew it was Chuck leaving for the train station. “Oh no,” I thought, “Where’s he going?” I jumped out of bed, and saw the tall purple polar bear get into a black, slick Toyota driven by a Penguin.
So what did I do? I snuck into the trunk and we drove for about four minutes. It smelled like old tuna fish. Gross!
When we stopped I heard the tweet of a train whistle and then a stranger’s quiet voice. “Good luck Chuck.” That must have been the Penguin. “See you next time. If there is a next time.”
The car turned back on. “Anything for the E.A.A.,” whispered Chuck. I suddenly remembered the tag on Chuck at my birthday party said, “Elite Arctic Animals”.
I hopped out of the trunk just in time to see Chuck walk into the crowd and meet a snow bunny with a collar saying, “Fluffle.”
“He must be part of the E.A.A. too,” I thought to myself.
“What’s the mission?” asked Chuck in his deep voice with an accent.
Fluffle said, “There is no mission Chuck! I’m not E.A.A. anymore. I’ve joined the Clever Land Animals of the Wild.” Just then several C.L.A.W. agents appeared and…
the C.L.A.W agents attacked Chuck. Chuck fought them off by using his watch to laser them. All the C.L.A.W. agents were killed except for Fluffle. Then Fluffle attacked using his ice laser, but Chuck fought back by using his hyperbeam. This time, though, Fluffle played dead. Chuck was tricked and thought Fluffle was dead.
Then Chuck walked away and Fluffle pressed a button that was on his Blackberry and a cage dropped onto Chuck. Chuck was trapped! The cage was covered with a wirey mesh that would electrocute him if he touched it.
Fluffle got up and said, “Mwa, ha, ha, ha! I tricked you with my cage!”
Now Chuck knew he was trapped so he called E.P.F., the Elite Penguin Force, by using his laser watch. The Penguin zoomed back to the train station in his car but now he had reinforcements…
5 Harley Davidson motorcycles pulled up with no drivers. All of a sudden they transformed into ninja penguins with golden armor.
As soon as the ninja penguins started toward Fluffle, he dropped the Blackberry and hopped on the nearest departing train.
The penguin picked up the Blackberry and made the cage open so Chuck could get out.
I couldn't believe my eyes. Who could imagine all of this taking place right in front of me.
The E.P.F. used the Blackberry to track down Fluffle. They found information about what the C.L.A.W. agency was planning. They found Fluffle ...
…a Verizon phone store near the train station. He is probably there to replace his lost Blackberry, I thought.
Chuck and I followed along silently. We all tiptoed up to Fluffle as his back was turned. Suddenly, I noticed something unusual about Fluffle.
I nervously inquired, “Is that a zipper on your back?”
Fluffle’s eyes darted back and forth like he was watching a ping-pong match. As he tried to make a run for it, I grabbed the zipper on his back and yanked as hard as I could.
My jaw dropped and I clutched my chest when I discovered that my crazy Uncle Luke was Fluffle all along!
“SURPRISE! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!” Uncle Luke exclaimed. Uncle Luke shrugged his shoulders and grinned, trying not to laugh. I felt dizzy and confused.
Sighing, Uncle Luke explained, “My dear nephew Fred, I wanted to make your birthday exciting.” He took a deep breath. “Your cousins were remote-controlling the Harley Davidson Ninja penguins in golden armor. Your Aunt Kathy played the Penguin.”
That’s when Aunt Kathy peeled off her costume like she was shedding skin, and I saw my aunt’s smiling face.
“What about Chuck?” I wondered out loud.
“Dear nephew, I programmed Chuck the toy polar bear to create this adventure for you. I wanted you to have a suspenseful and memorable birthday. I’m terribly sorry it didn’t work out!” Uncle Luke apologized.
“Why are you sorry?” I asked. “I had the most spectacular time! You are the best uncle that anyone could ever have!”
