Progressive Story 30
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Please visit the Instructions Page for more information.

If you would like to share any contact information please feel free to add it to the chart. This way your classes have a chance to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

Please feel free to make corrections to your name/school/location or add the names of teachers if you are working with someone on this project.

Saved by the Magic Squirrel

“There’s a lava storm coming!” said Joey the pigeon, Anna, the peacock, was glad that Joey was on the excursion with them. It was handy to have a bird that could fly above and check out the danger. Wilbur, the German Shepard, was the leader of the pack and instructed everyone to stay to the side of the Volcano so the lava would not harm them. As the group stayed clear of the lava storm, Anna began to think that it had been a bad idea to sign up for this trip. Back home in Kansas, she had been bored and thought an adventure might be just what she needed. But it had been a series of unlucky events from the minute she landed on the island. The plane had to land in the water because a herd of wild pigs were roaming on the runway, then after landing the hotel gave away the last room and she had to stay in a hut out by the trash dump. Finally she thought a relaxing hike might be fun and she was almost killed by a lava storm. As Anna laid down that night she heard rustling in the bushes.
It sounded like potato chips crunching. It actually was a bear doing the “Macarena.” The bear was 6 feet tall and it was dreadfully scary. The bear suddenly came out of the bushes and roared as loud as a war horn. It gave everyone a fright! The mighty beast almost collapsed on them because he tripped on a rock. While running in terror Joey said “The bear's dance moves were pretty sweet, but now I’m starting to get a little scared!” He chased them through the dark and spooky forest all night. In the morning, as the sun was rising, the bear was still chasing after them but soon got caught in a bear trap. Joey, Anna, and Wilbur did not know they were running towards the lava. As Anna noticed the lava coming towards them she yelled in fear to her friends “Oh no! Stop!”
The friends screeched to a halt. They started to run back towards the bear. When they were running, they jumped over the bear in the trap. Wilbur the dog told Anna the peacock to get on his back because Anna was slow. While they were running, they turned around to see where the lava was going. They saw the bear struggling to get out of the trap. The lava boiled his leg. The bear started to roar, "Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" The bear became a lifeless pile of bones.
The three friends observed other bears in the area. They notice bears performing wicked head spinning break dances. Bears started chasing and gaining on the group but Joey, the pigeon, flies down in front of Wilbur with a delicious bone to get him to run like a cheetah. Anna tumbled off Wilbur after getting whacked by a branch. Wilbur hears Anna squawking and races back to try to save her before the skin melting lava reaches her. Wilbur sees a bouncy ball and zooms after it, leaving Anna.
"WILBUR!" Joey screamed. He raced towards the bouncy ball and threw it back at Anna. Wilbur chased after it and realized that Anna was going to burn if he didn't save her. He raced towards her, just in time to see her leg disintegrate. He picked her up with his mouth, trying to be gentle. Sadly though, when he bent his head down, about 3/4 of his left ear burnt off. He wanted to yelp, but he held on tight to Anna and ran so hard it felt like his paws were going to burn off. They finally made it back to the hut, "We have to get off the island!" Joey yelled, "Gather some wood!" Anna yelled back, they then began to gather wood to make a raft. For some some unknown reason, Joey started chasing after a snake. When he picked it up in his beak, it shape-shifted into a squirrel. He then devoured it. The squirrel gave Joey unknown speed and he quickly gathered wood and a mouse. They built the raft in record time. Joey threw the mouse into the water and watched it drown. "It's a pigeon thing," Joey told Anna as she and Wilbur hopped onto the raft and started to float away. Anna and Wilbur looked back at the island and watched it burn. When they looked back, the raft tipped and they fell into the water. The raft floated away. Joey tried to save them, but Wilbur and Anna drowned. Joey felt horrible about not being able to save them, so he barfed up the squirrel and commanded it to bring Wilbur and Anna back to life. The squirrel made a really cute noise and saluted Joey. Then he dove into the water and made an invisible audience go, "Awww, he's so cute!" the squirrel emerged from the deep waters a moment later. He bowed to Joey and made a really cute, "Follow me," squeak, Joey followed him. The squirrel set down Wilbur and Anna on a cloud and said, "Give them shark fin, it revives them," Joey gave them the shark fin and watched as they came back to life. Anna moaned and said, "Need brains," Anna then proceeded to eat the squirrels brains. The squirrel used it's magic to grow another brain. Wilbur fell through the cloud and drowned again, but it was all okay. It was okay because Wilbur was revived by Michael Jackson, then he went on to sing really horribly. He became really famous and then someone bought him an he had to be a slave.
