Progressive Story 35
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

On a desert island in the middle of the Indian Ocean there was once a Giant Screaming Banana. The Banana always screamed at the sound of anything, even the wind or the rain. One day a massive earthquake hit the island which caused a Tsunami. Because of this Tsunami an Army ship crashed upon the shore. On the ship was a lone survivor with a pet gorilla. When the gorilla saw the Banana he wanted to eat it! The Banana started screaming its peeling off!
"Get over here gorilla George!" said Jeff, the lone survivor. The banana left out a HUGE sigh of relief, because Jeff saved his life. From that point on, the banana knew that Jeff was going to be his pal. The next day, the Gorilla got up before Jeff and searched for the banana. When George got close to the banana, the banana let out a shrieking scream, which woke Jeff up out of his deep sleep. Jeff runs swiftly to the screaming and spots George trying to eat the banana. Jeff starts yelling at George to stop trying to eat the banana and helps them become friends. All of a sudden, they all spot a magical sailboat floating towards the island. George, Jeff, and the banana run as fast as they can to the sailboat.
When they reached the shoreline, George started banging on his chest which made the Banana start to scream loudly. Jeff jumped up and down waving his arms until the boat got close to the island. Two 10 year old boys greeted them gladly from the boat. They lowered a ramp to let George, Jeff, and the Banana on the boat. Jeff carried the Banana so he wouldn’t get soggy from the water around them. Once they got on the sailboat, the two boys introduced themselves as Tweedledee and Tweedledum. They had come from Wonderland. The boys told George, Jeff, and the Banana that they smelled some food on the boat when it was stopped in Wonderland. They climbed aboard to find the food and hid while they ate it. They didn’t notice that the boat had started moving. When they finished eating and went to get off the boat, they noticed that they were in the middle of an ocean, and the boat was magically steering them to an unknown destination. George the gorilla was so excited about being on a magical sailboat that he climbed up the sail to see where they were heading. When he got to the top, George lost his balance and started falling. He reached out his hand to stop himself from falling, and grabbed the sail. Rrrrrip!!!! The sail tore, but luckily it slowed down poor George and he landed with a thump. Unfortunately, because the sail ripped, the boat stopped moving. They were suddenly stranded in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
“I can’t believe our luck!” said Jeff. “There is a ship coming our way.” Tweedledee and Tweedledum fetched their trusty spyglass to see who was approaching.
“Oh no!” said Tweedledum “Is that a Jolly Rancher?”
“Don’t you mean a Jolly Roger?” said Tweedledee.
“No, I meant a Jolly Rancher, just like I said. A Jolly Rancher has a skull and crossed bananas.” When the Banana heard this he immediately started screaming.
“Calm down Banana! It’s only a flag.” said Jeff
Tweedledee and Tweedledum looked through their trusty spyglass once again and inconsiderately announced, “The ship is filled with gorillas! And bananas! Wait, are they eating the bananas?” Hearing this, Banana passed out on the deck and split.
“Mmmm, Banana split. Yummy!” said George the gorilla.
“Oh Banana!” said Jeff. “Good thing I have my reliable duct tape.”
“Why didn’t you tell us this before, Jeff. We could have fixed the sail.” said Tweedledee.
“Well, I save it for S.B.E.” exclaimed Jeff.
“S.B.E. What’s S.B.E.?” asked Tweedledee and Tweedledum.
“Split Banana Emergencies.” Jeff said matter-of-factly. “Now, give me some help over here and hold Banana together, stat!”
As Jeff and the Tweedles repaired Banana, the pirates fired their banana cannons. The ship was covered in smashed bananas and sinking fast.
“What are we going to do now!” said Jeff
George the gorilla said, “ I think I might be able to help here.”
As George began to explain his plan, the Tweedles looked upon in disbelief. “You’re using us as trampolines?” yelled the Tweedles. “Well, you aren’t the skinniest guys around!” answered George. The Tweedles jumped overboard into the water and began floating on their backs. Then George and Jeff, clutching the banana to keep him out of sight, used the Tweedles as trampolines. They were able to jump so far and high that the Tweedles lost sight of them for a moment. The next time the Tweedles saw them, they were on the Jolly Rancher fighting for their lives. George and Jeff got to the banana cannon and continued to fire all of the bananas on board, except for their friend, towards their sinking sailboat. After a lengthy battle, the gorillas on the Jolly Rancher decided they were famished. They started to dive into the ocean and swim towards the banana covered sailboat. Once all of the gorillas were gone, Jeff, George and the lone banana set a course towards Tweedledee and Tweedledum. Once they reached their new friends, they hoisted them aboard. After everyone was saved, they went to Wonderland for a relaxing cup of tea with the Mad Hatter and Alice.
