Progressive Story 7
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and gives the story a title. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote.

Go to Instructions Page.

If you would like to share information about you email address, Skype name, iChat name, etc., please feel free to do so. Some teachers mentioned that they would like to actually "meet" some of the students that collaborate on their story.

One, dark, Halloween night, while four friends were trick or treating, they stumbled upon a haunted mansion, thinking that it was an ordinary house to visit while trick or treating . "Wow, what a spooky house! They did a great job with their decorating. Look at the fog floating in mid-air. They even have fake spider webs at the corner of the steps. Can you see those black spiders on some of the spider webs? Those bats under the tree look real. Maybe if we go inside, we can get extra candy!" exclaimed Everest. Logan, who was very careful, explained, "Maybe we shouldn't. The door looks locked, the porch light is off, and it doesn't look like anyone is home." "I think Logan is right, we should be extra careful because this is the first year that we get to trick or treat without our parents. Maybe we should really think about this because we want our parents to trust us." Katie whispered. Hailey pointed out, " We should go in. It might be one of those cool fun houses with all the mirrors that make you look all different shapes and sizes." Logan began to think about this. "Hmmm", he said, "Hailey, you could be right about this. I think we should give it a try." As the four friends walked up to the front door, Logan said, "Let's give it a try." They rang the doorbell. No answer. They knocked. The door creaked open and they saw a tall, white ghost. The ghost vanished right before their eyes. The kids saw a huge bowl of candy right inside the door. Katie said "Let's go inside and get some candy." The kids ran into the house and grabbed handfuls of candy but it was a trick! As they grabbed the candy, the door slammed shut and locked them inside the house.

"Oh no!" they all cried. Everest and Katie pulled on the door, but it wouldn't open. They were locked in. "What are we going to do? We should have listened to Logan!" said Hailey. "This was a bad idea!" yelled Logan. The four friends ran through the creepy house. They ran through the dusty living room. It looked like no one had been there in twenty years! There was dust, even spider webs, everywhere. The kids could not move fast enough. It felt as if they were running in place! Finally, at the far side of the filthy kitchen, they saw a door. They bolted to it! Everest got his hand on the doorknob first. He twisted the cold knob to the left...

He gently pulled the creaky door open and saw an old rusty staircase. He turned to Logan with fear in his eyes but to his surprise....Logan was nowhere in sight!! "Oh, no!" said Everest. Not knowing what to do, he just stared wide-eyed down the staircase. He had just taken a step on the first creaky stair when he saw in the moonlight from the window a tall, dark, skinny shadow at bottom of the staircase. He took a deep breath and kept going. Half-way down the stairs, he slipped on green, gooey slime sending him tumbling down the stairs. When he looked up from where he landed, there was a huge, hairy, green, slimy monster with five eyes. And all five of those eyes were staring right at Everest.

The monster threw green, gooey slime on Everest and all over the floor. He fell down on the slimy goo. The green, gooey slime kept him down on the floor. When he was struggling to get up, he fell into a trap door and fell onto an old, rusty bed. Standing next to him were skeletons and Frankenstein. Everest bellowed then fainted. When he woke up, he was outside in the pouring down rain. The raindrops were as big as bees. He got up and started to walk home, when suddenly he remembered that his friends were still in the haunted house. So he turned around and ran back and stomped onto the porch of the haunted house. However, when he got to the door, it was stuck with green, sticky goo. He was so exhausted from running back that he fell asleep. After an hour he woke up and the rain had washed the goo away. The door was open, so he went in and there was the five-eyed monster trapping Logan in his lair with his green, gooey slime. Everest fainted again. When Everest woke up, he was trapped in a spider web with Hailey and Katie. Hailey luckily remembered she had a nail file in her pocket. She quickly cut herself out and then cut out the others. Everest told them what had happened to Logan once they were all out.

BOOM! "What was that? It came from downstairs." The owners of the mansion ran to the basement door, turned the doorknob, and the door creaked open. As they took one step down the stairs, they slipped on green, gooey slime and tumbled to the bottom. They grabbed onto the nearby shelf and switched on the lamp. Suddenly, they were startled by a noise that came from under the ancient staircase. They were bewildered to see three child zombies, Hailey, Everest, and Katie, wearing trick or trick costumes and eating candy!!!!! The owners thought that something smelled like Tootsie Rolls! The owners asked the children why they were in their house. The children explained that they could not be free until they had found their friend Logan. "How long have you been here?" asked one owner. The children replied, "Exactly one century, today." The owners were so spooked by another sudden noise.
A huge, hairy, green, slimy monster with five eyes stepped out from under the stairs. "Buuuuuurp, oh excuse me, but they was good", replied the monster. The quest to find Logan still goes on.

The End.
