If you would like to share information about you: email address, Skype name, Twitter name, etc., please feel free to add it to the chart. Some teachers mentioned that they would like to actually "meet" some of the students that work on their story.
Your class will be writing ONE group paragraph(s) for the story (not each student). The first class will write the intro paragraph(s). Then the next class will read the paragraph(s) and decide how they want to continue the story. This will continue until the last class on the list writes the ending and
gives the story a title
. Your paragraph(s) will be typed onto this Wiki page. You will also need to send (email as .jpg) the 3 pictures to me. The pictures should illustrate events in the section that your class wrote. Illustrations can be drawn and photographed or created using a computer program such as Kidpix.
Start your story here: The Hole in my backyard
One day I was playing in my backyard. I had a lot of fun with my sister. We were jump roping and each had our own jump rope. My jump rope was blue and my sister was red. All of a sudden we fell in a hole in the backyard. We saw lots of animals, bugs and spiders. We even saw one Elephant in the hole. We think the elephant was jumping in the hole for exercise.
It was very dark in the hole. We kept falling and falling. The elephant was falling too. Finally, we came to the bottom of the hole. There were many tunnels around us. I asked the elephant, “What is your name and where are we?” The elephant replied, “My name is Ellie and I don’t have any idea where we are!” We sat very still and listened. There was a tapping sound coming from one of the tunnels. We decided to go into that tunnel to see what was making the noise. My sister, Lisa, led the way. We were surprised to see
…a little green crocodile playing the drum with his long tail. The crocodile stopped playing the drum and asked them: would you like to dance with me while I played the drum? Yes, we want to dance with you, but we are going to invite Ellie the elephant to play the trumpet with us.
The crocodile said, “The more the merrier.” Everyone danced until they couldn’t dance any longer. It was time for a snack. They all agreed they needed a nice cold drink and a bowl of ice cream. What a refreshing treat! We really need to find a way out of here. Which way should we go? Does anyone have an …
idea?!? "Yes" said the crocodile. "Let's march and dance down this tunnel until we find a way out!". So we marched to the drums and the trumpet and danced their way down a long long tunnel. All of the sudden, the crocodile had to yawn because he was really tired. We thought he was trying to eat us so we jumped to the side and fell through the wall. We fell into a bed of pretty flowers right outside our house. Scared, we began to run away but the crocodile yelled "wait, I was jut yawning, I'm not trying to eat you! I dont eat my friends. Come back and dance with me some more!". Then........I woke up. What a wonderful dream that was.
